Disney Hollywood Studios™ watertower Tips for Disney's MGM Orlando

1. Arrive early. If you park close enough, you can easily walk to the entrance.

2. If you haven't the day before, make a reservation for lunch or dinner as soon as you get to the park. You can do this directly with the restaurant or at the Hollywood Junction Red Car Station. We highly recommend the Sci-Fi Drive-In. The unique indoor drive-in movie theater atmosphere is entertaining for adults and children. The food is good too, with tasty burgers and rich shakes, as well as a few vegetarian items on the menu.

3. If thrills are your passion, head straight for the Tower of Terror and Rock n Roller Coaster. Grab a Fast Pass for whichever has the longest wait.

4. If you're traveling with small children, make a point of seeing the Playhouse Disney show. Characters from "Bear in the Big Blue House", "Out of the Box" and "Stanley" lead the children in singing and dancing. The production of the show is impressive for parents, and the kids love it.

5. Many of MGM's attractions are scheduled shows or popular rides, so you may want to take a break mid-morning and plan out the rest of your day. You can now hold more than one Fast Pass at a time - most rides allow you to obtain another Fast Pass as long as two hours have passed since obtaining your previous one. By afternoon, you may have a more structured day, but you'll spend less time waiting in lines.

6. Get to scheduled shows early to ensure a seat - at least 15-20 min. before show time.

7. Everybody loves a parade. But if you don't, or if you're in a group with small children, leave the kids with a less thrill-seeking adult to watch the parade, and take off for the Tower of Terror or Rock n Roller Coaster - often the lines are down to 20 minutes during parades or the finale show.

8. Don't miss Fantasmic - the finale show that's a myriad of fireworks, live action and animation projected onto a screen of water. It is unforgettable. There is stadium seating and is easily accessed by wheelchairs. The walkway to get to the stadium is quite a walk from the main stretch of the park, so allow for plenty of time before the show starts. The show is usually around 7pm and then again at closing. The later show will be less crowded and easier to get into than the earlier show.
